How to choose window tint that fits your car.

One of the biggest hurdles is deciding what type of tint to get for your car. Window films are produced with many different types of constructions to meet the needs of consumers' requirements. So, the number one thing to make certain of is the reason for getting tint. The majority of the time people want window tint to block out the sun and get some privacy. Which is a very valid reason in my opinion. So, fortunately, window tint has advanced quite a bit since the advent of window films many decades ago. However, throughout time people have battled with bubbles that just make the ride unsafe and ugly in appearance. Fortunately, much advancement has been made to minimize the bubbling of the film. Unfortunately, it could not be completely eliminated. My assumption is that adhesives of window film are good for 10-15yrs at most. Even then you can notice the film have some type of failures such as rippling, and delaminating effects to the films. Below are some things to look out for so that you get the most out of your window tint by having it last a long time or at least however long you decide to keep the car.

  • Determine if the film is color stable. The color-stable film does not turn purple or fade
  • Determine how long the film will last. Each type of film has its unique construction that gives its special features. Such as reducing solar energy by limiting solar energy being transmitted to the car hench giving its cooling effect.
  • Is the warranty provided by the manufacturer? Manufacture-backed warranties are much more reliable if they are known to have been produced in the USA. Manufacturer warranties are also valid all across the USA.
  • Choose Ceramic over other types of films. Check out my previous blog to learn more about ceramics. In summary, ceramic will give you the best heat protection and comfort while you are driving your car on a long summer day on a long-distance haul. Pay the extra for more comfort and savings.
So that's it. It is very simple. No need to wreck your brain. I have already done it for you. If you are still unsure about something feel free to contact me any time: info@bestprotint.com or Call 407-755-4144

How to care for window tint after getting your car tinted.

Congratulations! on your newly tinted car. To maximize the longevity of your window film here are some very simple steps you need to take to make sure your tint does not go bad on you before its expected expiration or however long it was created to last. As a side note, you should know that all window tints are manufactured with a rough estimate of when it will go bad on you. You can find out more from your installer.

#1: We recommend your leave your windows rolled up for a minimum of 3-5 days. The reason is window films are installed in many different climates from extremely freezing weather to extremely hot weather. So if you're in a colder climate we recommend you wait it out for at least 5 days.

#2:  DO NOT USE AMMONIA-BASED PRODUCTS. Simply because ammonia breaks down polyester. Your window film is made out of polyester. Your window film will become flaky as a result of your use of ammonia-based window cleaner.

#3: Use a damp soft cloth like a microfiber towel with mild soap to wipe away paw prints and dirt. If you want to fancy yourself you can use an AMMONIA-FREE window cleaner.

#4: Rub gently, use a second microfiber towel for drying

#5 DO NOT USE ANY ABRASIVE MATERIALS it will ruin your day!

Benefits of Ceramic Window Tint

  • The nano-Ceramic film is the highest quality of window tint film, and also the most expensive, contains neither metal, dye but instead a kind of ceramic particle that is both nonconductive and nonmetallic.
  • The nano-Ceramic film has only recently appeared on the market but has already proven its worth in terms of performance and reliability.
  • Nano-Ceramic window-tinting film cuts from 73% to 80% of the solar heat that enters through the windows in the form of infrared light while allowing maximum visibility both by day and night. Like carbon film,
  • The nano-ceramic window-tinting film allows maximum efficiency in the functioning of radios, cell phones, GPS systems, and all other such devices being operated from inside the protected space.
  • It surpasses the other types in its resistance to glare and fading and renders windows highly shatter-proof.
  • The nano-Ceramic film is also most effective in its blocking of ultraviolet light from the interior; in the case of ultraviolet light (the kind of light rays that contribute to sunburn and skin cancer),
  • The nano-ceramic window-tinting film can block up to 99% from entering the interior

Why You Should Shield The Sun With Ceramic Window Tint

Why You Should Shield The Sun With Ceramic Window Tint

There’s no doubt that Teslas are beautiful and stylish. Much has to do with the glass around and above passengers which give full sight of their surroundings. However, all that glass also puts the car at a higher risk for heat exposure and heat build up inside the cabin.

You wouldn’t spend a day at the beach without applying sunblock, so you shouldn’t drive your Tesla around without first getting the proper protection to shield yourself from the powerful radiation and heat coming from the sun. Research published in The New York Times done by St. Louis University shows drivers were more likely to develop skin cancer on the left side of their face/bodies. This is why the Skin Cancer Foundation recommends window film as a preventive measure.

With so many window films out there, the benefits of nano ceramic tint are what sets it apart from all the other tint films. Here is what it can offer:

Real Protection

The perception of many riders is that the darker the tint film or window, the greater the protection against the sun. Wrong. Stock tint, color dyed, and carbon-based will not provide any real type of heat rejection.

99% UV rejection is expected on all nano ceramic tint films. When dealing with premium nano ceramic tint films, you can expect heat rejection (infrared radiation) to be in the 90%+ range.

It’s important to have the best sun protection out in the market, especially if you’re looking to uphold resale value as much as possible and prevent fading, cracking, and other interior damages.

Extreme Comfort

Ceramic window tint acts as an insulator from the heat outside. Being out directly in the sun with no sunglasses is unpleasant. Having nano ceramic tint on every glass surface of your Tesla is like being under the shade and having your eyes protected at the same time.

While Tesla makes some of the finest, safest, and funnest cars to drive out on the road, you’ll want to make sure your comfort isn’t being interrupted by any heat especially on hot Summer days.

Energy Savings

Just like the window tint acts as an insulator to the heat outside, it also keeps the coolness inside for as long as possible. This means you can expect better efficiency coming from your A/C unit.

Ceramic window film also reduces the need for power-draining climate control system usage. So you can drive farther between charges while still remaining comfortable from the sun.
